Containerization of Space' with an introductory lecture by Alexander Klose

Explore the intricate web of relations connecting oil, container logistics, and coastal zones with Allan Sekula's acclaimed work, The Forgotten Space.

Still from The Forgotten Spacec

'The Forgotten Space' is a provoking description of the world heavy container traffic and a documentary with a unique look at the infrastructures we often forget, but which today permeate every form of life, form of consumption and form of society. It is a film that opens eyes and arouses indignation through an unsentimental defence of human dignity in the face of a system characterised by a cold and hostile anonymity.

The film is introduced by the Berlin-based cultural theorist Alexander Klose, author of the outstanding book 'The Container Principle' and the research project 'Beauty of Oil'.

The event is part of a wider festival focus on coasts, water systems and aquatic landscapes.
