The Copenhagen Architecture Biennial is a space for collective engagement with architecture as a vital field shaping our everyday lives, societies, and planetary well-being.

Expanding the understanding of architecture not only within the industry, but also among the public, has the power to spark innovative ideas, deeper critical thinking, and inspire action towards a more sustainable and equitable future.

This is something we know how to do. Since 2014, our founding organisation CAFx has grown to become one of Scandinavia’s leading institutions in the field of architecture, engaging diverse audiences through hundreds of events and partnerships.

Vision

“Our ambition is to bridge differences, promote critical thinking, and raise awareness of how architecture and urban planning shape our lives. Attention is needed to highlight the industry's potential to create a better future, especially in the face of today's urgent challenges.”

Assemble! was a two-day professional symposium that brought together architects, urban planners, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to address structural challenges in the building sector and explore pathways toward slower, more sustainable architectural practices.

The symposium featured internationally recognised speakers including Kate Orff (SCAPE), Indy Johar (Dark Matter Labs), and Anders Lendager (Lendager), alongside panel discussions and best-practice case studies with leading Nordic and European practices. Through talks, debates, and shared research, the programme highlighted how future-oriented ideas are already being translated into policy, planning, and built projects.

As a key knowledge platform within the Copenhagen Architecture Biennial, Assemble! offered partners and sponsors direct engagement with decision-makers and thought leaders, positioning them at the centre of critical conversations shaping the future of the built environment.

Two public pavilions formed a central part of the Copenhagen Architecture Biennial 2025, located in the city’s Cultural District. Selected through an international Open Call, the projects demonstrated innovative approaches to circular design, material reuse, and low-impact construction.

The pavilions served as visible urban landmarks and hosted a rich programme of talks, performances, and public events, engaging both local and international audiences. Over the course of the biennial, the sites reached 186,000 visitors, offering partners and sponsors significant public exposure and association with forward-thinking, sustainable architecture.

By combining strong architectural identity with public engagement, the pavilions provided partners with a powerful platform for visibility, storytelling, and alignment with cultural relevance, innovation, and environmental responsibility.

The Copenhagen Architecture Biennial opened with a public celebration at Thorvaldsen’s Museum, marking the start of the programme with performances, guided tours of the public pavilions, and social gatherings. The opening celebration attracted strong public interest, with hundreds of people signing up to attend in 2025, creating a vibrant and welcoming entry point to the biennial. The event offered high-visibility opportunities for drinks and food partners to engage directly with audiences in a cultural setting, aligning their brand with creativity, hospitality, and public life.

As a key moment of public engagement, the opening celebration combined cultural impact with partner exposure, setting the tone for the biennial and strengthening connections between architecture, the city, and its audiences.

The Copenhagen Architecture Biennial developed a series of high-impact content initiatives in collaboration with leading international and national media partners. These collaborations extended the biennial’s reach beyond physical sites and into editorial, audio, and live-event formats.

The programme included a curated architectural guide produced with Politiken, a dedicated podcast series developed with KoozArch, and a public events programme in collaboration with ArchDaily. In addition, a VIP opening dinner hosted with Dezeen brought together key voices from architecture, design, media, and industry.

Together, these media partnerships generated sustained visibility, international reach, and long-term editorial presence, offering partners association with trusted platforms, high-quality storytelling, and influential audiences shaping contemporary architectural discourse.

The Copenhagen Architecture Biennial offers partners the opportunity to host curated dinners as intimate gathering moments for key industry influencers, international press, and cultural leaders. These events create a relaxed yet high-profile setting for meaningful conversations and relationship-building.

Hosted dinners can be tailored to reflect a partner’s brand identity through curated menus, locations, and storytelling, creating a bespoke and memorable experience. As branded moments within the biennial programme, they offer partners exclusive visibility, access and direct engagement with influential audiences.

By hosting a dinner, partners position themselves at the centre of cultural and professional exchange strengthening connections, visibility, and long-term relationships within the global architecture and design community.

The Copenhagen Architecture Biennial facilitates a dedicated VIP programme designed to host international press, leading industry figures, and key cultural influencers in Copenhagen. The programme creates curated moments for networking, dialogue, and experience-led engagement across the biennial’s core events and locations.

Partners are invited to get involved through high-impact touchpoints including hosted dinners, food and beverage partnerships, gifting, transport, and tailored experiences. These opportunities allow brands to engage directly with influential audiences while gaining meaningful exposure in premium, editorial, and social settings.

By supporting the VIP programme, partners align their brand with international thought leadership, cultural excellence, and the global architectural community strengthening visibility and relationships at the highest level of the biennial.
