Experiments Platform: Urban Velocities

Workshop

Does my speed depend only on my own will?

Architect and researcher Laura Norkūnaitė invites for a collective storytelling experiment set in Copenhagen's Rådhuspladsen. Participants will trace the square's hidden speeds and rhythms by observing, mapping, and intervening in its everyday flows. By making its actors visible, both human and non-human, the square's layers connect into narrative loops — stories of how people, objects, and infrastructures alter one another. Rådhuspladsen shifts from a landmark into a stage, where overlapping stories reveal the city as a network of unique, interconnected lives.

The workshop is part of the Vilnius-based mentorship programme Experiments’ Platform for emerging spatial practitioners. In 2025 four fellows explore the theme ’Reflecting Abundance’. Through immersive happenings the public is invited into the fellows’ project research in different locations across the city investigating urban velocities, exhausted winds, public baths and economies of wastelands. Following the happenings Experiments’ Platform hosts a discussion on the importance of experiments and alternative education.

Experiments’ Platform was founded in 2021 by the non-profit organisation Architekturos fondas
