Urbanplanen is a public housing development located in a residential area, approximately 3 km from the city center. The neighbourhood consists of 3,000 homes, accommodating around 6,000 residents.
While many Danes may have heard of Urbanplanen, the area today is quite different from its past reputation as a housing district with a vulnerable reputation. Decades ago, it was often viewed as a challenging place to live. However, significant renovations and targeted social initiatives have transformed the community. In 2020, a new park, Remiseparken, was established, which has since become a popular gathering spot for families with children, offering a welcoming environment for outdoor activities and community events.
During Open House we invite you to explore three homes in Urbanplanen.
These five-story structures were constructed of concrete in the mid-1960s, comprising a total of 753 homes.
These two-story townhouses, also made of concrete and built during the same period, include 266 homes.
These modern family residences were built as part of the overall development plan for Urbanplanen. They feature 66 homes ranging from 56 to 114 m², with one to four rooms. Designed as low-energy homes, they meet contemporary energy efficiency standards and include features like solar panels and green roofs, resulting in low utility costs.
