Make Materials Matter: A Portrait of Søren Pihlmann - With Guided Tour and Panel Debate
Louisiana Channel har fulgt Søren Pihlmann i tre år og samlet et portræt af en af de mest interessante skikkelser på den globale arkitekturscene netop nu. Make Materials Matter undersøger Pihlmanns tilgang med hans egne ord og gennem nogle af hans mest markante projekter – fra transformationen af en industribygning i København til hans repræsentation af Danmark på Biennale Architectura 2025 i Venedig.
Den danske arkitekt Søren Pihlmann ønsker intet mindre end at revolutionere den måde, vi bygger på: Han ser en iboende kvalitet og skønhed i eksisterende materialer og udforsker derfor alternative metoder til den traditionelle praksis med at rive ned, smide ud og bygge nyt.
Efter filmen er der samtale med Søren Pihlmann selv.
I forlængelse af filmarrangementet er der guidet tur i Olav de Lindes transformationsarkitektur i Thrige firkanten med efterfølgende paneldebat mellem Søren Pihlmann, Olav de Linde, borgmester Peter Rahbæk Juel, miljøminister Magnus Heunicke og publikum.

Louisiana Channel has followed Søren Pihlmann for three years and created a portrait of one of the most interesting figures on the global architecture scene right now.
Make Materials Matter explores Pihlmann’s approach in his own words and through some of his most significant projects – from the transformation of an industrial building in Copenhagen to his representation of Denmark at the Venice Biennale Architettura 2025.
The Danish architect Søren Pihlmann wants nothing less than to revolutionize the way we build: he sees an inherent quality and beauty in existing materials and therefore explores alternative methods to the traditional practice of demolishing, discarding, and building anew.
After the film, there will be a conversation with Søren Pihlmann himself.
In connection with the film screening, there will be a guided tour of Olav de Linde’s transformation architecture in the Thrige district, followed by a panel debate between Søren Pihlmann, Olav de Linde, Mayor Peter Rahbæk Juel, Minister for the Environment Magnus Heunicke, and the audience.
