On this walking tour, we follow in his footsteps through the streets and neighborhoods he left a strong mark on. Along the way, we see how, as king and builder, he expanded and modernized the capital in the spirit of the Renaissance.

You will learn about the king’s many roles and his ambitions for Copenhagen — both as a political center and as a practical, functional city. The tour passes iconic sites such as Gråbrødretorv, Børsen, Nytorv, and the Round Tower, as well as other houses, squares, and churches from the 16th and 17th centuries that still bear witness to a time when the city’s appearance and identity were changed forever.
