Opening: Slow Down Group Exhibition

Observation, silence, restraint, humility, and hesitancy are often cast as weaknesses in an action-oriented society—seen as shortcomings rather than strengths. In the group exhibition Slow Down, we offer an architectural defense of these unappreciated dispositions, tracing the new rhythms, frictions, and imaginaries of the great, dizzying deceleration that lies ahead.

Come along for the opening of the exhibition, made in collaboration with Form/Design Center in Malmö, get a first look, and enjoy a cold Biennial Beer made in collaboration with To Øl.

Having carefully curated a show out of several hundred international proposals, we tune into planetary systems and, reconsidering urban rituals, reimagine infrastructural alternatives: an architecture of signal-jammers forms silent sanctuaries, a mobile pavilion performs rainwater harvesting as a public event, and a deep dive into Køge Bugt uncovers the slow violence of marine sand extraction.

The exhibitors in at Halmtorvet 27 are: Kristiane Fenger and Panuela Aasted (Stadia), CENTRALA, David A.Garcia, E. B Itso, Pablo Castillo Luna, Jana Pressler, Tonda Budszus, Studio Tideland + Emma Rishøj Holm, Dark Matter Lab, Lauge Floris and Debbie Chen.

DA:
