DK:
ENG:
Over the course of three years, an overlooked industrial building from the 1960s has been transformed into a boundary-breaking community centre. Thoravej 29 – Repurposing Itself documents the process and captures the interventions that have reshaped an unremarkable structure into a key reference point in contemporary Danish architecture.
Filmed continuously throughout the development of the project, the documentary has previously been shown in early versions at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Tallinn Architecture Biennale, Chilean Architecture Biennial, and the Danish Architecture Center. It is now presented for the first time in its final form – at the very site where the transformation took place.
The screening is introduced by the makers of the film – photographer Hampus Berndtson and architect Søren Pihlmann – and followed by a guided tour of the building.
