Did you know that people actually live in BLOX on Bryghuspladsen square? Now you have the chance to see what it feels like to live at the top of such a distinctive building. Open House invites you to visit one of the 22 apartments in BLOX, designed by the Dutch architects OMA.

BLOX has been called everything from a “must-see” to an “abomination.” The distinctive, angular glass building on the waterfront—situated between the Royal Librarie’s Black Diamond and Langebro—is best known for housing the Danish Architecture Center. With its many stacked boxes, the building has both devoted fans and outspoken critics. Regardless of your opinion, BLOX has brought new life to what was once a rather desolate part of the city.

Visually, the stacked boxes call to mind the many shipping containers that once lined the harbour. And the many shades of green are a reflection of both the harbour waters and Copenhagen’s verdigris spires.

Peaceful—right in the city center

On the 4th and 5th floors of BLOX are 22 apartments ranging from 120 to 200 square meters in size, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and large terraces that offer stunning views of both the city and the harbour. Despite the fact that the entire building sits directly above one of Copenhagen’s busiest roads, the top of BLOX is remarkably peaceful.

In addition to the exhibitions at the Danish Architecture Center, the building also hosts a design shop, a fitness center, the Danish Design Center, and BLOXHUB—a co-working space for startups, established companies, and organisations working in sustainable urban development.

See the city from a new angle

If you visit the apartment during Open House, you'll get a rare chance to peek inside a private home at one of the city's most sought-after addresses. You'll be able to see the city and harbour from a new perspective—a view that only very few are privileged to experience.
All the apartments offer a phenomenal view and excellent natural light through the large windows.
