PEDESTRIANIZE! is a micro-urbanism intervention in architectural language located in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico... but for you (yes, THE ONE WHO IS WATCHING) is a protest, it's a missed call, an awareness project on pedestrians and cyclists.

The film is about the lacking soul of Baku. The bright and beautiful capital is lovely for many and is the center of entertainment, beauty, tourism, trade, and culture. On the other hand, many people have a “boundary” between the beauty of these things due to poverty, mental health, or bad memories with the city. Baku has its part as well. The rapidly growing city has almost no soul left. The town's history is wiped off due to the construction of new sites and fancy buildings to attract tourists and guests and turn it into a business/entertainment hub in the South Caucasus.

"Unlocking the inner child" portrays the everyday difficulties of Sophia, who, due to her ADHD diagnosis, sometimes has problems letting her energy run free in an urban environment. That's why she likes to come to the trampolines at the harbour to exercise between her work and other commitments. Here she can live out her inner child and feel free. Leah Meinhof directed, shot and edited the film. Sophia Livecchi tells her personal story.

Every day, for three hours, street musicians take over parts of Skanderbeg Square, the main plaza of Albania’s capital city. They appropriate Tirana’s iconic free-use green chairs to position themselves as part of the urban landscape and engage through music in a spontaneous process of placemaking. This film follows a day in the life of a group of local performers.

Getting a satisfactory haircut can be a simple pleasure that brightens up your day, leaving you feeling confident and comfortable. For 20 years, a skilled barber has been providing this little happiness to people through his small, inexpensive, wall-based barbershop. This is more than just a place to get a haircut. It's a hub where people from all walks of life can come. At this peaceful place, people can feel comfortable and accepted, regardless of their background or appearance. It's a reminder that happiness can be found in the simplest of things, and that sometimes all it takes is a friendly smile or a listening ear to brighten someone's day. In the midst of a bustling and rapidly changing city, there are still pockets of peace and warmth.

"The Green Chair" is a film by Andriana Theochari and Anna Katrine Tan. The film explores the contrast between the simultaneous overdevelopment of cities and the right to "sit" which symbolizes the right to take time to reflect on what is happening. Highlighting a kind of public furniture, a chair becomes a medium between fast and slow processes in our lives.

The film is about the poverty that young people go through and the situation leads many to use cabs to earn some pocket money. Unfortunately, there is a very competitive taxi business in the city and it makes the service and the prices decrease as well. The second biggest city Sumgayit is almost 30 KM away from Baku and there are cabs around the center you could take to Sumgayit only for 1 manat (around 0.55 EUR). The situation is the same with “1 manat” cabs to some other districts as well. There are many famous cab companies such as Uber and Bolt well functioning in Baku and their service prices are very low as well. The situation is advantageous to encourage people to take cabs instead of using their own car, however it leads to the exploitation of the cab drivers.

The film highlights the citizens' struggles related to the sidewalks, certainly in the central streets where sidewalks are very narrow, cars are allowed to enter and parking is chaos. Many citizens who walk the streets where the film is made encounter different challenges. Particularly, for those who are in a hurry or coming back from shopping with some bags. Cars barely move due to the congestion, making the situation even worse for people to pass by. The narrow streets in Baku cover a huge area behind the central area from Hazi Alsanov to Bashir Safaroghlu street where plenty of shopping centers, entertainment and leisure facilities, local shops, business centers, embassies, and hotels are centered. The area requires access to a big number of citizens every day and the situation with the sidewalks demotivates many to walk around these streets. In return, people tend to take cabs to their destination and it creates a vicous circle where the cabs worsen the traffic and eventually the overall situation. At the heart of Baku, many are left without a pavement/sidewalk, and the film portrays the real every-day struggles of citizens.

Community architect and environmental activist Kevin Kimwelle from South Africa is demystifying architecture for people with a social cause, who wouldn't be able to afford an architect. He and his team of engineers and volunteers are building community centers, creches, schools and other social structures by entirely relying on local and repurposed industrial materials that he recycles for construction. His idea of a cycle economy expands also to independent energy production through bio gas from human waste.

Reinventing inclusive design through the use of cardboard. A material usually employed as container, now it can be a doormat or a table. Through examples of re-use, cardboard becomes a symbol and gives a new understanding of inclusive design: creativity, accessibility and recycling may be pillars for a new (social) inclusion within modern design and architecture.

Ilford is a diverse and growing neighbourhood of London. Access to green and public spaces in the heart of Ilford however, is greatly compromised. According to the English Indices of Multiple Deprivation, it features amongst the 10% most deprived areas for access to high quality local living environment. Wilderness Street is a temporary living urban landscape which was installed in Oakfield Road in Ilford in 2022, launching the town centre as a cultural destination at London's north-eastern fringe. Before large-scale urbanisation started from the C19, the Ilford, Barkingside and Hainault area was characterised by forests, fields and meadows. Our design strategy seeks to temporarily revive these lost landscapes. We have selected Uphall Camp Beacon, the former Royal Forest of Hainault and the Essex Grazing Marshes as blueprints for plant species and landscape character to be replicated by our proposal for Oakfield Road. The project advocates for the preservation of ancient natural landscapes and their role in maintaining biodiversity and supporting well-being. The legacy strategy will see all planting including trees and shrubs given away to community organisations and Ilford residents at the end of the project. Enticing local people to adopt the plants will see elements of the ancient Essex landscape re-instated in public places in Ilford, in peoples gardens, front gardens, planters and allotments.
