Little Eelgrass Pavilion: Workshop on building with eelgrass, Day 2

Workshop
Credit:
Kontra Arkitektur

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’re invited to help bring the Little Eelgrass Pavilion to life! Over the course of the workshop, we’ll transform the empty wooden frame of the pavilion by braiding and weaving ropes made from eelgrass—an traditional, sustainable material with deep ecological significance. You’ll learn a technique inspired by the roof thatching methods developed on the Danish island of Læsø more than 400 years ago, guided by workshop hosts who will share the cultural and environmental stories behind eelgrass. As we work together, we’ll explore how this remarkable aquatic plant plays a vital role in the Øresund’s marine ecosystem and offers nature-based solutions to climate challenges. No prior experience needed!
