Open House

Museum of Copenhagen

Since 2020, the Museum of Copenhagen has been housed in an architectural gem at Stormgade 18. The building was constructed in 1893-94 as a guardianship office - a place where the state administered the estates of underage women and children. The architect H.J. Holm was strongly inspired by the Italian Renaissance when he designed the building, which features colorfully decorated ceilings, stained glass window and more. This weekend, the museum opens its doors and offers free admission to all architecture and history enthusiasts. Sign up for a guided tour with curator Thomas Roland and explore every corner of this history-filled house. 2 different activity sheets invite children and the young at heart to discover the beautiful building.
