Copenhagen Architecture Forum (CAFx) is proud to present ‘The World in a Square’ about Superkilen. 14 years after the inauguration of Superkilen, CAFx is inviting the people behind it: Bjarke Ingels, Superflex, and Topotek 1, for a conversation about the internationally acclaimed project’s inception and life today. The talk will take place after the World Premiere of “The World in a Square,” a documentary about Superkilen by the acclaimed film couple Békà & Lemoine, who will also be present.
For “The World in a Square” Bêka & Lemoine settled in the park over the course of a summer to observe this global microcosm from within. Throughout the film, they explore how the neighbourhood is shaped by migration, religion, and politics — a diversity that can often generate tensions and contradictions, but also unexpected encounters.
The conversation after the film will center on the learnings and insights gained with 14 years of use. The methods of “extreme participation” from the neighborhood’s inhabitants in the process, the daily life of the area and how doing the project has informed the respective practices of all the involved actors.
