Fire unikke portrætfilm om skabelsen af rum

Den kreative proces er kompleks, vanskelig og personlig. I disse fire portrætfilm kommer vi tæt på vidt forskellige tilgange til at skabe rum og arkitektur.


Æstetik, funktionalitet, bæredygtighed, brugerinddragelse, repræsentation - der er et væld af udgangspunkter for skabelsen af rum.

Om arkitekt Sarah Wigglesworth: What does it take to make a building?

Et indsigtsfuldt portræt af arkitekten Sarah Wigglesworth, der i samtale med BBCs arkitekturformidler Piers Taylor reflekterer over sit liv som arkitekt gennem 25 år. Wigglesworth er kendt for sit klimatisk bæredygtige byggeri, sin inddragelse af brugerne, når hun designer, og hun er samtidig en stærk stemme i diskussionen om uligheden mellem kønnene i arkitektfaget.

Portræt af en David Chipperfield bygning i Seoul: Landing

En fotograf beslutter sig for at indfange et af Chipperfields byggerier i Seoul en sidste gang inden, at projektet overleveres. Han undersøger den i detaljen i samtale med 26 involverede arkitekter og ingeniører og rammes undervejs af det konfliktfyldte forhold mellem motiv og repræsentation. Filmen er fortalt af David Chipperfield.

Haunted Houses - i sporet af Eileen Gray og Adolf Loos

Instruktøren undersøger myterne og fortællingerne om Eileen Gray’s ikoniske hus E1027 (bygget 1926-29) og Adolf Loos’ hus Villa Müller (bygget 1927-30) og skaber nye forbindelser mellem dem.

Tilbage til fremtiden: Oslavia - The Cave of the Past Future

Filmparret Békà & Lemoine er tilbage, nu med et portræt af den futuristiske maler Giacomo Balla’s hus på Via Oslavia i Rom, hvor han boede i 30 år af sit liv. Huset har stået urørt siden Balla’s død i 1958, og Békà & Lemoine besøger stedet som opdagelsesrejsende arkæologer på en rejse tilbage til fremtiden.
