Brumleby Museum

Brumleby blev designet til kolera-truede fattiglemmer, men er i dag en mere eksklusiv by-i-byen. Kig indenfor i Danmarks første sociale boligbyggeri med brugsforening til de trængte beboere.

Kom til rundvisning om fællesskab, andelsbevægelsen og velfærd med en lokal Brumleby-boer i Danmarks første sociale boligbyggeri fra 1853, Lægeforeningens Boliger på Østerbro. Fra at huse kolera-truede fattiglemmer har Brumleby i dag udviklet sig til en hyggelig, “hemmelig” by-enklave.

Vilhelm Kleins reformboliger var inspireret af M.G.B. Bindesbøll, der designede de første otte husblokke i Brumleby. Den symmetriske grundplan med inspektørbolig og fællesfaciliteter understregede de ordnede forhold. Brumleby Museum er indrettet i Københavns første brugsforening, der skulle skaffe mindrebemidlede beboere billigere og bedre varer - sund livsstil fra vugge til grav. Besøg den smukt restaurerede brugsforeningsbygning med butik, bibliotek, kontor, uddelerlejlighed, karlekammer og hørkramkælder.
