Tag på tur gennem Christianshavns rige kulturhistorie og hør om, hvordan middelklassens dyder og idealer har præget bylivet fra 1800-tallets storbyslum op til nutidens urbane parceldrømme.

ARRANGEMENTET ER DESVÆRRE AFLYST!

Relationerne mellem byen og hjemmet, det offentlige og det private, er for alvor med til at definere byens liv. Facadernes gradvise forvandlinger fortæller en historie om samfundets kulturelle udvikling og afslører, hvordan fællesskab såvel som individualisme har sat sit tydelige præg på byen. På en tur gennem Christianshavn kan du høre om, hvordan gadens liv er blevet saneret og tæmmet gennem tiden. Først gennem almen velgørenhed og idealer om velfærd og senere gennem drømmen om privatliv i parceller og et større ønske om individualisme i storbyen bl.a. gennem altaner. 

Sammen med folkemindehistoriker Karin Lützen og antropolog Marie Stender ser vi på, hvordan middelklassens dyder har ændret sig over tid, og hvad det har haft af betydning for livet i hovedstaden.
