Spirituel periodefilm om arkitektens arbejde i det 8. århundrede.

Amit Dutta, en af Indiens førende kunstfilm-instruktører, har en særlig evne til at give menneskets spiritualitet og relation til naturen et helt distinkt filmisk udtryk. Dutta beskæftiger sig med de måder, filmmediet kan udtrykke tid på, samt hvordan Indiens religiøse kunsttraditioner kan genaktiveres. I denne eksperimenterende periodefilm rejser en 700-tals arkitekt over Himalaya i søgen efter den ideelle placering til opførelsen af et tempel. Adstadigt og meditativt føres vi ind i den ukendte arkitekts refleksioner om spiritualitet, jordtyper, naturkræfter og geometriske former. I Duttas filmverden sættes teknisk viden, materialitet og matematik i direkte forbindelse med naturens væsen og spirituelle sindelag.
