The Works and Days (of Tayoko Shiojiri in the Shiotani Basin)

Vi er kun lige er trådt ind i 2020’erne, men CAFx tør godt allerede nu udnævne ’The Works and Days’ som et af årtiets mest overvældende filmoplevelser. Med en spilletid på otte timer følger 'The Works and Days' tålmodigt den ældre kvinde Shiojiri Taykos landbrugsarbejde over fem sæsoner. Men det er lige så meget en film om den lille landsby, hun bor i, og bjerglandskabet, der omringer den. ’The Works and Days’, vinder af Encounters-prisen på Berlinalen 2020, er et eksperimental-etnografisk fiktionsværk, der ganske enkelt skal opleves i biografen. Enkelte sekvenser er udgjort af sort skærm, hvor vi omsluttes af landskabets lyd – en slags field recording i egen ret – mens andre sekvenser blander fotografi og film på fascinerende vis. ARR. Maratonvisning med pauser. I første og tredje pause serverer vi kaffe. I anden pause vil der være tid til at købe mad (ikke inkluderet i billetten). 195/150 kr.
