March 28, 2023

In this podcast episode, the artist collective Superflex is featured — a group known for expanding the boundaries of the artist's role by exploring a diverse set of disciplines and sites in their creative work.

Recently, they have focused their attention on the impact of the climate and biodiversity crises. The podcast delves into the collective's involvement in the Super Reef project, which aims to create favourable conditions for non-human species, drawing attention to the fragility of marine ecologies.

Post Notes

Participants:
Bjørnstjerne Christiansen, founding partner of Superflex and artist
Otis Sloan Wood, architect and lecturer in the Architecture and Extreme Environments programme.

Producer:

The podcast was recorded during Copenhagen Architecture Festival x Sense of Place in 2022. The events was part of the exhibition and talk series 'New Methods for Big Challenges: Architecture and Extreme Environments' addressing the extreme as a living condition and a design condition.

The event is part of a collaboration with Art Hub Copenhagen on art and architecture and is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and the Louis Hansen Foundation.

In order to address the climate collapse and the biodiversity crisis, we have to collaborate across traditional institutional and professional boundaries.
