More than 70 events will take place in March 2015 in Aarhus and Copenhagen, including film screenings, lectures, masterclasses, workshops, and an international exhibition and conference focusing on housing.
The festival begins on March 19 and continues throughout the rest of the spring and in September.
The aim of the festival is to “rethink the representation of architecture, to highlight its qualities and diversity, and to create relevant discussion about how it affects—and is affected by—our way of being in the world.”
The festival was held for the first time in Copenhagen in 2014, where, with 3,900 visitors, it was the world’s second-largest festival of its kind.
According to the festival’s director, Josephine Michau, the ambition is “to deliver a more ambitious, cross-disciplinary architecture festival in 2015 that will establish Denmark as a central stage for architectural innovation and sublime experiences connected to the physical, research-based, and cinematic environments, as well as to the architectural profession and educational settings.”
Through its various activities, the festival highlights themes in architecture such as urban space, architecture as an art form, the Nordic perspective, everyday form and urban life, as well as housing and welfare.
