Thoravej 29 Guided Tour - A Radical Transformation

Open House
Credit:

Architecture Meets Community.

In the heart of Nordvest, a former industrial building from the 1960s has been reimagined as a dynamic center for creativity, sustainability, and community.

Originally built for manufacturing, the structure at Thoravej 29 has undergone a bold transformation. Rather than demolish it, Pihlmann Architects led a retrofit in 2025 that sought to repurpose the original materials. Concrete slabs were transformed into staircases and furniture, surplus bricks became flooring, and steel beams were reintegrated.

Today, Thoravej 29 is home to a vibrant, cross-disciplinary community of organizations, artists, and entrepreneurs working toward social and environmental innovation.

During Open House, you’ll be invited on a guided tour through the building. Discover how a former industrial building was radically transformed using recycled materials and exposed structures, creating a space that embraces change. Learn how the building supports a diverse community working across disciplines to drive social and environmental progress. A tour that reveals how space can inspire action and foster lasting transformation.

Guided tours at 10:00, 11:30 and 15:00. Registration is required.
