Hypogeum Unveiled – Jacob Kirkegaard’s New Sound Installation

Social
Credit:

Join us for the opening of Jacob Kirkegaard’s newest sound installation Hypogeum, presented to the public for the very first time at Lydbrøndene (Sound Wells) on Solbjerg Plads. The work transforms recordings from Copenhagen’s colossal sewer system into a powerful sonic experience, unfolding through 32 loudspeakers buried in the wells of the square.

At the opening, the piece will be played for the first time, and Jacob Kirkegaard will give an opening speech. Cold beers will be served.

A heartfelt thank-you to the New Carlsberg Foundation for commissioning the work and generously lending it to the Biennial. Our gratitude also goes to Frederiksberg Fonden for making the project possible through their financial support.

DA:
