Discover Grundtvig’s Church from Crypt to Tower

Open House
Credit:

Experience Grundtvig’s Church as you’ve never seen it before!

During Open House we are opening the doors to both the well-known and hidden areas of this unique building – from the crypt and the church attic all the way up to the tower, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view over Copenhagen.

Programme

13:30-14:00 – Talk: How the church came to be (in Danish)

Hear the story of the creation of Grundtvig’s Church and learn about the architect behind this monumental building, P.V. Jensen Klint.

14:00–14:30 – Organ concert with cathedral music

Organist Mads Høck will perform on our grand Markussen organ. Let the music fill the space and allow yourself to feel the acoustics and architecture in a completely unique way.

Throughout the day you are welcome to explore the church, the crypt, the attic, and the tower on your own – including the impressive timber structure hidden within.

We look forward to welcoming you to an afternoon filled with architecture, history, and music in what might be the most extraordinary church interior in the world.
