SlowWood: Timber Reuse as Driver of Circular Construction

Seminar
Credit:
Wendy Wuyts

In contrast to fast-paced construction, recovering and reuse of wood is meticulous—each piece must be individually assessed and handled, as it might suffer from decay, contamination and moisture. Yet this slowness offers opportunity: like in traditional craftsmanship, design and manufacturing processes emerge that harness the individuality of salvaged wood. The seminar examines how new approaches support a circular economy, from DIY to emerging industrial methods at scale, while preserving local identity and aesthetic value.

Local and international voices will share insights in a hybrid format, that is taking place in a collaboration of 3 EU projects www.rawproject.eu  www.ecometabolisticmodel.eu  www.circuless-project.eu  www.co2nstruct.eu.
