Black Wave Yugoslav Cinema: Love Affair, or The Case of the Missing Switchboard Operator

Filmen skabte en revolution, da den kom ud takket være billedet af den nøgne Isabella med en sort kat på ryggen - stadig en af ​​de mest ikoniske scener i den jugoslaviske filmhistorie.

Gennem fortællingen om kærlighed og bedrag mellem en telefondame og et postbud blander filmen politisk forkyndelse med fri kærlighed til en skarp samfundskritik af det kommunistiske styre på den tid, hvor retten til frit at leve, elske og praktisere kunst blev forbudt og indskrænket af magthaverne.

Om Black Wave Yugoslav Cinema:

Stift bekendtskab med en eksperimenterende filmbevægelse, der ønskede at øge friheden for det kunstneriske udtryk og transformere det cinematiske sprog, og som endte med at ændre en hel kultur.

Festivalen har fået en unik mulighed for at vise et udvalg af de revolutionære kunstneriske film, der opstod som et modsvar til den socialistiske realisme i 60ernes Jugoslavien. Filmbevægelsen går under den samlede betegnelse Black Wave Yugoslav Cinema og er kendetegnet ved en eksperimentel tilgang til det audiovisuelle sprog, sort humor, og en kritisk undersøgelse af det daværende jugoslaviske samfund. Filmene fra denne tradition fik international opmærksomhed og fremkaldte i sin tid stærke kontroverser i Jugoslavien.


Programmet er tilrettelagt af den kroatiske arkitekt Nina Bacun, der med udgangspunkt i Black Wave Yugoslav Cinema har forsket i, hvordan fortællinger om rum i film er relateret til (gen)præsentationer og nærlæsning af arkitektur og landskaber, hvad enten de er virkelige eller kunstige. Hun vil præsentere filmene og deres historiske kontekst.‍

Præsenteres i samarbejde med den serbiske ambassade: visningen vil blive introduceret af abassadøren i Republikken Serbien i Danmark.
