"Omsorgens hus" – fra overformynderi til boligudlejning

Kom på en kulturhistorisk rejse dybt ind i fortællingen om en bygning og hør de medlevende historier om omsorg og menneskeskæbner i det 20. århundrede.

Tag med os på en kulturhistorisk rejse ind i fortællingen om omsorg i Københavns Museums bygning i Stormgade 18. Museumsbygningen, der blev tegnet af arkitekt Hans J. Holm i 1894, har i løbet af 1900-tallet først dannet rammer om en lang række forskellige opgaver såsom Overformynderi, Børneværn, Kontor for Sundhedspleje og Boligudlejning, hvorfor fortællingen om bygningen også er en langstrakt fortælling om omsorg i det 20. århundrede samt om de borgere, der havde deres daglige gang i huset.

I foredraget går etnolog og museumsinspektør Kirsten Egholk tættere på de kommunale forsorgs- og velfærdsopgaver, som blev udført i bygningen, og fortæller historierne om de mange gribende menneskeskæbner, der også fandtes bag de store jernlåger på hjørnet af Stormgade og Vester Voldgade.

I samarbejde med KBH Museum. Billetten giver også adgang til museet, som er aktuel med udstillingen ‘Byen på tegnebordet’.
