I Have Loved Living There

Et poetisk portræt af en parisisk forstad fra efterkrigstiden og dens indbyggere.

I en ny by, som i 1970’erne “opstod ud af ingenting” nordvest for den franske hovedstad, tager vi på en rejse til fortiden og nutiden og bliver vidne til et møde mellem de anonyme beboeres intime fortællinger og de smukke skriverier af den berømte franske forfatter Annie Ernaux, som selv har boet i Cergy-Pontoise i mere end to årtier. Dokumentarfilmen fortæller gennem samtaler med beboerne og ord fra forfatteren en historie om den unge by og forsøget på at skabe en inkluderende og socialt bæredygtig urban utopi i skyggen af Eiffeltårnet. Er denne type mangfoldighed en naiv drøm eller er det rent faktisk muligt at overkomme samfundets mange paradokser og tilbyde fremmede et hjem på dørtrinnet til Paris i fred og harmoni.


Filmen introduceres af litterat og litteraturkritiker på Politiken, Benedicte Gui De Thurah Huang.
