Kulturnat Special: 'NYE METODER TIL STORE UDFORDRINGER: Architecture and Extreme Environments' (EN)

Til kulturnatten fredag den 14. oktober holder vi ekstraordinært aftenåbent fra kl. 18.00 til midnat i vores lokaler på Halmtorvet 27.

Her kan du opleve vores udstilling “NYE METODER TIL STORE UDFORDRINGER: Architecture and Extreme Environments” og lære mere om, hvad arkitekten kan stille op i mødet med verdens globale udfordringer.

Copenhagen Architecture Festival har i år valgt at invitere den internationalt anerkendte arkitekt David A. Garcia til at udstille en kombination af tegninger, fotografier, artefakter og film fra hans mange feltstudier i udsatte steders muligheder og begrænsninger. I mødet med verdens globale udfordringer, har vi brug for nye idéer om det byggede miljø, og Garcias studier er et vigtigt bidrag til dette arbejde.

Om udstillingen 'Architecture and Extreme Environments'

Hedebølger. Oversvømmelser. Storme. Og tørkebegivenheder. Vores omgivelser er under hastig forandring og klodens klimatiske forhold er blevet mere ekstreme. Vores arts evne til at tilpasse sig vil afgøre vores arts fremtid, og det vil blive nødvendigt at bo på nye måder, hvis ikke store dele af kloden skal blive ubeboelige inden for de kommende år.

At vores arkitekter responderer på miljøforandringerne, er af afgørende betydning, for der er behov for nye design- og bygningsteknologier, der forener teknikkens instrumentelle og æstetiske moment; kunsten at leve på en beskadiget planet; en tilpasning, der både er materiel og symbolsk.

Lær mere om, hvad arkitekten kan stille op i mødet med verdens globale udfordringer, og forstå, hvorfor vi har behov for en gentænkning af fremtidens beboelsesformer, når vi fylder vores lokaler på Halmtorvet 27 med tegninger, fotografier, artefakter og film af David A. Garcia og hans studerende fra Kunstakademiets Arkitektskole. Det bliver en udstilling om ekstreme miljøers muligheder, begrænsninger og om vores evne til at bebo en verden i hastig forandring.


Udstillingen akkompagneres af en arrangementsrække, der udvider vores forståelse af det ekstreme som et vilkår i tilværelsen og arkitekturen:

Udstillingen kan opleves udefra 24/7 fra d. 6. okt. - d. 20. nov. og indefra, når vi har arrangementer.
