In a little over a month the 10th edition of Architecture at the Edge Festival will take place in Galway, Ireland. At CAFx we are thrilled to contribute as co-organizers of the AATE26 Film + Architecture Workshop as part of the festival.
The workshop asks how the moving image can reveal the relationships that shape our everyday environments: the spaces where communities gather, memories accumulate, conversations emerge and belonging is created.
CAFx brings more than ten years of experience in organizing and hosting summer schools and workshops using the medium of film to investigate new approaches to architecture.
Since 2016 we have hosted our own film and architecture workshops with themes such as Landscape as Character: Rural Noir, Inclusive Design, and Social Integration. And we have developed, consulted on, and facilitated workshops with institutions like Aarhus School of Architecture, BINA from Belgrade, MAXXI in Rome, Oslo Architecture Triennale, Architecture at The Edge in Galway, Barleti University & Tirana Biennale, Tbilisi Architecture Biennal, Pink Armenia from Yerevan, and Queer Art Festival in Baku.
For AATE26 Film + Architecture Workshop our own Søren Nørkjær Bang will help lead the workshop along with Lemonot Studio & Thomas Kerr Bell. And participants can look forward to lectures by Jasper Meurer & Rocio Calzado from Dorcar Films, Alessandro Pasero & Dr Torange Khonsari.
Taking place in Galway from 17–25 September 2026, the workshop will culminate in a series of short films presented as part of Architecture at the Edge Festival 2026.
Applications are now open. Please send us your portfolio before August 17th 2026. Link here for more info
