Den asociale Gade: Neighbouring Sounds (EN)

Bliv klogere på urbanitet, overvågning og "gated-communities" i selskab med en skarp debatfilm og en af Danmarks førende urbanteoretikere.

Der er intet rum for tilfældige gademøder i Neighbouring Sounds, debutfilmen fra den brasilianske instruktør Kleber Mendonca Filho, herhjemme kendt særligt for Aquarius. Hans debut finder sted i et lukket kvarter, hvor lokale sikkerhedsfolk patruljerer på gaden, og de rige beboere kun forstyrres af larmen fra omverdenen. Alt fremmed, alt ukendt, er fjernet fra gaden, der i stedet bliver et rum hvor den sociale ulighed og historiske uretfærdighed tydeliggøres. Neighbouring Sounds imponerede i 2012, og vandt blandt New Talent Grand PIX herhjemme, og siden da er den blevet en nøglefilm til at forstå latinamerikansk historie, hvor fortidens uomgjorte uretfærdigheder er vendt tilbage i form af ledere som Bolsonaro.

Filmen introduceres med et oplæg om fjendtligt design, rumlig ulighed og kontemporære tendenser inden for global byudvikling af Ole B. Jensen, professor i byteori og urban design. Det bliver en eftermiddag om de designtrends vi sjældent taler om; Designløsninger, der måske snare forværrer og forringer, end forskønner og forbedrer. (introduktion på dansk)

Gaden er både det modernes grundlag og problem; et motiv, så dybt indridset i kulturens fortællinger og billeder, at angrebet og forsvaret for gaden har været en hundredeårs-motor i den vestlige arkitektur- og modernitetsteori.
